About Us

Cub Scout Pack 99 serves elementary school students in Weddington, Waxhaw, Marvin, Matthews, and Wesley Chapel.  We are one of the largest Cub Scout packs in the area.

Pack 99 was chartered in 1991 by Weddington Methodist Church. Families need not be members of WMC to join Pack 99, but all Scouts are welcomed to attend services or further explore what the church offers.  Pack 99 runs independently during the year, and Scout families of all faiths are welcomed.

Pack 99 Cub Scouts feeds into Troop 99 Scouts BSA in 6th Grade.  Since 1991, Troop 99 has produced more than 110 Eagle Scouts!

Vision
Pack 99 mentors youth in an engaging and caring environment to develop tomorrow’s leaders.

Mission
Pack 99 provides family centered experiences that support personal growth through:
  • Service to others
  • Citizenship
  • Character development
  • Development of self confidence
  • Responsibility
  • New experiences
  • A deeper connection to faith

Cub Scouts have fun!

Scouting is a blast for youth in kindergarten through 5th grade.  In Weddington's Cub Scout Pack 99, den leaders teach by doing.  Cub Scouts learn to tie knots, set up a tent, shoot a bow and arrow (archery), make wood projects, and more!

Scouting is often the first time children sit around a campfire, hike, explore nature, perform community service, and participate in an organized model car race!

Weddington Cub Scouts - Pack 99

Our Cub Scout Pack draws from local Union County Public Schools including Weddington and Antioch Elementary School; as well as area public schools like Weddington Christian Academy.  Additionally, many of our Scouts are home-schooled.

Pack 99 is divided into smaller groups called dens that meet individually - usually twice a month. Most dens have six to ten boys of the same age and Scout rank.  As the scouts move from rank to rank, they grow in independence.
  • Kindergarten - Lions
  • First grade - Tigers
  • Second grade - Wolves
  • Third grade - Bears
  • Fourth grade - Webelos
  • Fifth grade - Arrow of Light

Most dens meet at the Weddington Methodist Church Family Life Center at 13901 Providence Rd, Weddington, NC.  Some activities may also occur on weekends.  Please visit our teamapp page for the latest information.

Weekend Campouts - Families Invited!

Several times during the year, the Pack organizes weekend campouts.  Usually, the Scout's entire family is welcomed to join.  Some families have their first camping experience while in Scouts, while others are more seasoned.

The camping weekends are typically within a 1 to 3 hour drive of Weddington; they may be in the mountains, on a lake, in a historic national park, or other areas of interest.

Cub Scouts must be accompanied by a parent on all outings, and parents are encouraged to participate in all meetings and activities.
